Occasionally after an asset is filled, it does not complete the process of being delivered and collected again so that it is ready to be refilled.  There may be a number of reasons for this such as the asset was never sent out to a customer as it was not sold, or it was decanted into other containers to be sold.  This means you may have inaccurate information in iSpaniel about your filled assets, and assets have to be manually set back to 'in house' or 'collected' before they can be filled again.

The auto-return to empty feature in iSpaniel assists with this by automatically setting asset back to 'in-house' if they remain filled (and not delivered) for a specified number of weeks.  The process runs on a daily basis at midnight UTC.

This article explains how to use this feature.

NOTE: After this is enabled the process will run the same evening and auto-return the assets that were filled longer than the number of weeks selected to empty.  This may mean a large number of assets are set to empty the first time this is run.

  1. Login to the iSpaniel portal as an Administrator
  2. Select the General submenu from the Configuration menu
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Place a tick in the box next to "Auto Empty Filled Assets".
  5. Select the number of week after an asset is filled that you want to automatically return it to "In House" if it is not delivered.
  6. Click Update.
