Introduction
In order to get you up and running on iSpaniel with the minimum of fuss, there are certain things that you need to do as a customer in preparation for the installation and use of the solution. A checklist has been provided at the bottom of this document, so you can ensure that you have everything you need.
Before Go Live
Accounting Package Details
Although we don’t mandate a certain accounting package, it is useful to know which one you use so that we can advise and assist you to get your customer information extracted and imported into iSpaniel.
Customer Export from Accounts System
To get your customer information into iSpaniel quickly, we strongly advise that you provide us with an export of your customer list in CSV format. The following data is required in the following format to allow iSpaniel to import it, and mandatory fields are shown in bold:
UniqueID | CustomerName | Telephone | email | Address1 | Address2 | City | PostCode | Country
Instructions for exporting this data from Sage can be found in the Obtaining Customer Details from Sage 50 Accounts article. The same principle can be applied to other accounting software.
Please note
- The information in each field must valid to prevent issues with importing the data into iSpaniel. For example, the email address must be a valid email format, and the telephone can only contain numeric characters or ‘+’.
- The UniqueID should be the unique customer reference from your accounting or CRM system. This can be used to automatically lookup the customer in the iSpaniel app using a QR Code, if your accounting or CRM system supports the printing of QR codes on delivery notes or invoices.
Mobile Phones
iSpaniel uses Android mobile phones with NFC technology to track your assets. All phones will need to be supplied by the customer, connected to a suitable network and also be available to use 3G, 4G or WIFI in all locations where iSpaniel is to be used for the following purposes:
Registering (Programming) assets
Filling assets with product
Delivering and collecting assets
Checking asset status
Mobile phone specification
